The State Coloring Contest returns this year for students in kindergarten through 5th
grade, offering Posts a valuable way to engage young community members and to spark
early exposure to the Patriot’s Pen and Voice of Democracy contests.
Entries must be mailed to a local Post—not the State Chairman—by October 31, 2026.
Post judging concludes November 16; District judging December 1;
State judging December 11.
The Department will award one winner per grade division a $50 check and a certificate.
Posts and Districts may set their own awards.
Posts in non‑participating Districts may send winners directly to the State Chairman
